Dressed to impress, The Twins sported mini backpacks, couture glasses, and diamond chains. They hit the stage armed with a kick ass DJ bumpin’ and scratchin’ their signature Southern booty-shaking beats and a crew that crowded the small stage. The night jumped off with the likes of “Wiggle then move” and “Shake”. The duo balanced each other out nicely. Kaine with his dirty south, rough neck vocals and D-roc and his smooth melodies and ultra hype rhymes. They continually got the crowd exited dancing in circles and echoing back with D’s all too famous catch phrase,“Haaaahn!” Watching their entourage ‘act a fool’ was inevitable. As the drinks went down so did their tolerance…and quite possibly their IQ. In fact, Kaine got lost somewhere along the line. While he was MIA, D-Roc and his peeps covered snippets of Billboards top 30 including “Walk It Out”, “Throw Some D’s”, and Lil’ Wayne’s “Make It Rain”.
''We went from being one-hit wonders to a novelty group to 'we degrade women,' all that,'' D-Roc says, ''Bad promotion, good promotion, it don't matter -- as long as people are talking.'' Oh we are talking all right.
Upon Kaine’s return, he popped a bottle of something expensive, shared it with a fan and the Twins paid homage to the Lil’Jon with their shared single, “Get Low”. Then, adding a little Caribbean twist to the mix, the Twins busted out with a crowd favorite “Say I Yi Yi”.
From the classics like “By Myself” and “Whistle While You Twurk” to newer hits like “Ms. New Booty”, Wyclef’s collaboration “Dangerous”, and the Grammy-nominated single Wait (The Whisper Song), which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, no hit went un-Crunked.
“I'm really content with it [success] because we're going further then people thought and we're just going to keep rising.” says Kaine. D-Roc adds, “Like anybody would tell you, "It feels good". You work hard for something; you feel good when you get it. Creativity, you know? We do a show, we got creativity, and we got God on our side.”
The Chemically Imbalanced Tour gets a “Haaaahn!!!!” Mad support to their grade school theatrics and raunchy lyrics, a signature only the Ying Yang Twins would welcome.
