Last Sunday Dec 3rd at the Riviera Theater, Enrique Iglesias offered a concert under no CD promotion, and with just a little new material to offer to his fans. The Riviera was packed, mostly women of course, and being a Sunday it was not bad at all for the Spanish singer to have that many people at the Chicago venue.

The men in the crowd seemed to thoroughly enjoy the Latin crooner’s performance, but appeared to hold back from letting go completely. However, the women cheered and screamed as if they were watching Elvis in the late fifties, singing many of Iglesias’ songs along with the budding performer whenever they caught their breath.

Iglesias has never been known for having an enriched voice, or for his dancing skills, but there is one thing we have to give him credit for - he knows how to maintain the fire in his fans at live performances, even after more than three years since the last album he recorded. How does he do this? Like his father, Enrique has charisma and charm, but most importantly, he knows how to be a showman.

His ability to connect with the audience was very apparent, as he was able to touch the hearts of both women and men alike by singing from his heart and using the genuine, unfiltered passion that comes with being an Iglesias.

Singing mostly in English, Enrique kept the crowd happy and pleased by offering a sneak peek at a couple of his new pieces, along with the jewels from past concerts like “Be With You”, Living It Up Tonight” and “Solo en Ti (only You)”. The audience’s response to the “majo” (handsome man) told the story – Enrique knows how to put on a sensational show.
