“Happy Birthday Michael,” were the words Michael Firestone said just as the band started the song, “You Are Not Alone.” This Michael Jackson impersonator was incredible to see perform live. You felt like you were watching the King of Pop himself. The stage show was flawless from beginning to end.

At The Venue inside Hammond’s Horseshoe Casino was an incredible performance called A Tribute to Michael Jackson. Firestone performed some of the biggest hits of Jackson’s career. Songs off of Thriller were obviously amongst the set list to celebrate the 51st birthday of Michael Jackson.

He did the moonwalk, sang all the high pitched squeals, and brought out the glittering glove. He did the signature spins, the shakes, and fooled your mind for a while that Michael was still alive. He was accompanied by an outstanding band, four dancers, and an audience that was captivated by the show. The entire performance was magnificent as Firestone kicked up his heels to honor the music of Jackson.

The night opened with a video capturing the career high lights of Michael Jackson. Once the music started, the powerful feeling that came about the room was just awesome. “Black or White” was played so perfectly, it was as if you were listening to a CD of Michael himself. Firestone sounded, acted, and danced just like Jackson in so many ways. Throughout the show he was able to execute a performance that proved this man’s talent to imitate Berry Gordy and Joe Jackson’s creation. He even did the robot.

Michael Firestone had changed his wardrobe several times during the show to try and capture all the different identities of Jackson. From Off the Wall to HIStory, every outfit had been taken advantage of to convince the audience that this wasn’t just another impersonator. Everything from 1983 to 1998 was seen during this show by this talented performer. Truly a powerful performance had been done in every way. The dances, his strut, the voice, and every move made were a perfect mimic of Michael Jackson.

During the performance of the songs “Beat It” and “Thriller” his dancers came out and performed in similar ways to the videos. They fought when they were supposed to and looked like scary demons when needed. Overall the performance is something to be seen. He also performed the song “Bad,” “Billie Jean,” and “Man in the Mirror” that left you wanting to see more.

Michael Firestone has been imitating Michael Jackson for quite some time. He has put together a show that is entertaining and convincing to say the least. Fans of Jackson would be pleased to see this young man perform the music of one of the most popular entertainers of the twentieth century. His show was a great way to pay homage to the King of Pop on his birthday. Applause to a job well done.
