Rev Luv is badass!

In a cloud of fog the band REV LUV took the stage at Chicago’s House of Blues with a vengence. This local area band raged out with power stealing the show from the headlining act. As they played with every bit of drive, determination, and their soul, it was clear this band was put on Earth to entertain a crowd. They are just amazing!!

The drums were pounding, the bass rumbling, the guitars screeching, and the vocals screaming. The band during the entire set let you know who was boss giving the crowd the direction to have a good time. They make the impossible look possible as they grabbed the massive army of people and knocked them dead. This band could be the next in line to make it within the music industry.

The four musicians that make up REV LUV are all stand alone entertainers. Each one could wow a crowd by themselves with an intense Hellish way. They send off a certain vibe of energy to the audience who reacts sending the positive activity right back up to the stage. The energy makes a full circle charging up the band and lights a fire of endurance within them. They have devoted their lives to rock music insisting it, “will never die.”

Guitar player Vee stands at the front of the stage with a very mighty stature playing until his nail painted fingers hurt and are ready to fall off. Onlookers are taken by the presence of this player as every note rings out in an array of distorted effects. This six stringed hot shot, who has been playing guitar since he was eight years old,  demonstrates his ability and versatility on every song. Influenced by Eddie Van Halen and Ace Frehley you can hear them within his playing.

Lonnie Loco provides the bass notes as half of the fast paced rhythm section of REV LUV. He is guilty of holding the lows, keeping the time, and setting the tempo within every thump. Sporting his tattoos in a sleeveless shirt and playing like the badass that he is, this bottom end monster plucks the notes that vibrates the very core of your existance.

Pretty Boy George moves every part of his body to hit a percussive apparatus that is synced in within the guitar and bass like clock work. His drum work is flawless with every beat provided from his modestly sized kit. Witnessing him play proves that a large kit is not needed to create more music. His expert playing ability drives the band within every exhibition.

Completing this four piece on vocals is the magic pipes of Jonnie. This tattooed man sporting a dreadlock hairdo is also an ordained minister. After belting out songs he can legally marry someone although it may not be suggested. For the religious God fearing, God worshipping people of the world, this may not be the holy man of most people’s choice. He swears in songs and live in concert. Keep in mind this band is not a religious group and his choice to be involved with ministry does not get in the way.

The band was named REV LUV by the singer after a fictional character in a movie and the logo idea for the star actually came from the Walmart logo. Within the creative minds of this band there is nothing that can stop them. They do not have a CD out yet, but for them it’s all about playing whether they get paid or not. After being together for eleven years it’s always a pleasure for them and they consider it an awesome time to be able to get in front of a crowd to play.

“It was great! And we didn’t get booed,” George stated grinning from ear to ear. He continued, “We have opened up for Twisted Sister, Ratt, Warrant,” and for this show the band Great White who is well known for the tragic fire in Rhode Island that claimed the lives of one hundred people.

“I told people we were opening for Great White and people made fun of it. It’s not a joke what happened to them. They played here [House of Blues] a few weeks before the fire. I got to hang out with all of them. Ty Longley gave me his number and told me to give him a call. I still have the piece of paper with his number on it. A few weeks later he was gone leaving behind a wife and child. It’s really sad.”

No matter when they play, if they are the headliner or the opening act REV LUV is just a great band to see live. They are gauranteed to steal the show from the best bands around and will continue to turn heads. This band was born with a musical calling and they have discovered their talents letting it pour out of their body, mind and soul. They are making their dreams become a reality. They are called …… REV LUV.
